Hi all
This morning I received a letter from a company called Robinson Way who I suspect are a DCA.
They have asked me to confirm I am the person who lived at a previous address.
I suspect I know what this is about so I will give you a brief summary.
Approximately 5 years ago, I made a payment through paypal for £8. What I didn't realise was that the card that was my default card on Paypal needed updating because it had expired. So Paypal took payment from a Nat West card that was still on file but had very little money in it and had not been used for about 4 years. I honestly had forgotten I even had the account with Nat West.
Anyway, I moved house and failed to inform Nat West because as I say I forgot I had an account with them It turned out that the £8 took me into a £1.25 overdraft and they began lumping charges on the account plus interest etc.
I only found out about it because I received a similar letter to todays letter about 18 months ago and rang them to see what it was about. The previous DCA who I identified myself too said I owed £450 and it was at this point I found out what had happened. I tried to reason with Nat West but they weren't having it. They just referred me back to the original DCA.
I offfered the original DCA a payment of £250 to clear the debt, but they refused.
I didn't hear anything for about 6 months and then received a letter from another DCA asking for the money. I again made the same offer but they refused.
I heard nothing more from that DCA and then today I received the letter from Robinson Way. They evidently aren't sure I have moved to a new addres, hence the request for me to confirm I am the same person who lived at teh previuous address.
So my question is, what do I do about this letter from Robinson Way?
Sorry for the long post, I did try to keep it brief (Honestly)
Many thanks in advance
