Re: Wends and the DCA merry go round

Yes, I added that letter to my collection too - my goodness that was a trip down memory lane looking at some of the letters I already have filed

It's funny how these snarling little dogs always seem to put the most effort into tiny or non-existent debts.

I recently had an amusing game of letter ping pong (me playing stupid) with Phillips, who have the word 'bailiffs' in their debt collection letter headers. It was regarding a statute barred (for at least 15 years) alleged debt of £35.00 which represented disputed Halifax bank charges from a couple of decades ago.

When I finally got bored it took 3 letters of increasing vigour advising them it was Statute Barred before they slunk away.

Snotcall are kitties, although they do like to send people round, so you may get to meet Tommy in the flesh..

        Lol thanks Wendy B.

I will add my letter received from Newmans today. Simpy said:

        tel blah blah blah

I used to dread opening up letters like this, now I actually enjoy receiving them as I recognise them for what they are, and I also recognise that most DCA's must attend the same letter writing school as they are frequently identical.

LOL yes. I'm sure my 'good friend' "Mr Brown" at Allied International Credit used to love receiving my responses too!

Probably why they farmed it off to Newmans. I am going to have to establish another 'special relationship' now!

Oh well I'll chuck in the old "call by appointment and I have no wish to make an appointment with you" as well. And I'm sure our Millie has broken her last toy so she could do with something else to gnaw on....

Sent my letter 1st Class yesterday, didn't send it Recorded as Frank was a bit low on funds. Threw in various bits about OFT 664, no wish to make an appointment, trespass, you name it it was in there. No doubt they will ignore it but you never know, maybe they do have at least one person who can read....whether or not they can also understand what they are reading remains to be seen.

Some of the DCA's and collection departments say they cannot send letters. Got really annoyed when asked if he had asked his employers to fund him through adult literacy clases. But thought it might be amusing o send aforementioned pen pad and one stamped self addressed envelope It willalso see it the pich post. LOL

                    Nice.
Well if they CANNOT send letters then there's no possibility of payment, now is there.
I remember a certain Preston based DCA that tried that one on me, this was AFTER they had sent me a letter demanding payment !!!!

Re: Wends and the DCA merry go round

Perhaps direct them to this site:

                      http://www.tlsbooks.com/kindergartenworksheets.htm

They describe their site as follows:

Welcome to tlsbooks.com, where you'll find a variety of free kindergarten worksheets for home and school use. Our kindergarten worksheets are intended to enhance your child's skills and introduce new concepts in a fun, stress-free manner. Depending on your child's abilities, you may wish to refer to our preschool and first grade worksheets for additional practice.

However, go easy on the maths as they are probably not ready for that yet.

At a later stage in their development, introduce them to:

How to Be Sympathetic - wikiHow

                      As the website states:

Try to put yourself in 'their' shoes. If you see someone having a hard time, like a lost relative or mother, ask yourself how you would like other people to treat you if you were in that situation.
                      Thanks!

You could always have included that classic DCA line ''VALID EVEN IF NOT READ BY YOU'' in RED ink and BOLD of Course

well I haven't heard a squeak from them since I sent that letter, nor have any other DCAs crawled out of the woodwork.
