Would they warn me first before taking court action? Or would I suddenly have a letter from the courts?

they would if they were able to send a PAP (pre court letter) there is a strict procedure so they would have to get their ducks in order, (and plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions and etc

The Pre-Action Protocols but do not panic as many companies bluff until the last minute hoping you give in, of course you will not at this stage else they will have a big office party on you?

MIKE770 so they can't just send it to court without notifying me? I can handle being pestered but don't want court action, and going back into default, my own fault I shouldn't have gave into bully tactics when I lived at my mams and it would have certainly been statute barred by now, I'm sure it was before I gave into them after many years of pestering but 6 years won't be up till November 2020 now

No - they would have to follow a set requirements i.e. send you a PAP (Notification) 5 pages for you to fill in and send back for starters, if it came to it on here they would help no doubt!> they are just hopeful no doubt, so see what happens next without contacting them i.e. encourage them to pester
