  • CCA requests to a P.O. Address

    Hi,
I want to send a CCA request to a DCA, DLRS, acting on behalf of beneficial Finance. I only have a P.O. address and won't be able to send it registered. Any help on this please? If I just send it, how will I know they have received?

    Thanks, Columbus

You can get proof of posting when you send it.

I would also send a CCA to Beneficial Finance as well and write to the DCA stating that the account is in dispute with BF until they satisfy your requirements under the CCA

OK. Thanks for your help. What address for Beneficial Finance would I need to send this to. And is it the case with any other creditor with a P.O. address that I still send the CCA request and proof of posting? Excuse my stupid questions but I'm new to this and very nervous and worried. I have a few of these to sort out - Credit cards- Mint, MBNA, Capital One, and Sainsbury's and Bank loans - Beneficial and Sainsbury's, Then my own bank and overdraft with Nat West. I also have various business accounts with Nat West with loads of charges going back years. Can I get any of these back as that would possibly put be back in the black?

Re: CCA requests to a P.O. Address

What may be helpful is if you list everything down then we can form a plan of action to try try and tackle everything. Its sometimes a lot easier to do it this way that do bits and bobs.

Then once we start progressing with each company we can split threads for each one.

Plus this wil also make it easir to see exactly where you are at with everyone.

Just a simple list, without figures for now will do, something like

            Original Credtor...........................DCA
            Barclaycard.............................Mercers
            Bank Account..........................Jo Bloggs

            That type of thing

            Oh and Welcome to Beagles

Re: CCA requests to a P.O. Address

FYI, DLRS as HFC's "in-house" DCA.
I've had some personal dealings with them and always used the above listed PO box and always had a response.

Their bright yellow threat-o-grams are slightly annoying, but once threatened with legal action they soon backed down

I hate to disagree with PK here, but I see little point in send Beneficial a CCA as well.
DLRS will pass it to them for action anyway.

Remember beneficial are a trading name of HFC anyway.

                Personal Loan from Friend

I am also behind on my mortgage with Halifax and trying to sort out.

I am currently self employed but claiming tax credits and all the letters and phone calls from creditors are not helping at all.

The last few years have been quite difficult and have resulted in an enourmous amount of charges being added to by accounts, both bank and credit cards, as well as a CCJ from a previous business supplier (which I stupidly failed to defend) I wish I had found this site sooner.

Thanks CB. The bright yellow letter that arrived was written without predudice and was an offer to settle in full with up to a 60% discount if I did so within 12 days. I am unable at present to do this.

Yes, I have read through this post Curlyben and as you say, it is very useful. Pkea, Ive posted the list of creditors and as you can see, they are made up of CC's, loans, and debts owed to creditors from a business I no-longer own. What advice can you give taking this forward? I have received about 10 phone calls already this morning. I'm dreading the post and seem to be going into a shell shutting everything and everyone out. My OH says they have never seen me like this.

Hi again, I have the CCA letters ready to send to Credit card companies - MBNA, Mint, Cap One and Sainsbury's. I cannot find the registered address to send these to: Mint, Sainsbury's or Cap One. Could someone post these up for me. Just to clarify, I am doing the right thing first by getting a CCA request off to these companies?? Should I also send a letter asking them not to telephone me but to put everything in writing? Thanks for all your help so far

Thanks Amy. Do I just send the standard CCA letter (as below) in the first intance?

With reference to the above account, I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of this credit agreement.

I understand a copy of my credit agreement should be supplied within 12 working days.

I also understand that under the Consumer Credit Act, creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act.

                              ACCOUNT NUMBER: XXXXXXX

                              Dear Sirs

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don't yet have recording equipment!!**)

                              Yours faithfully,
