  • Barclaycard Cheek!!!!!

I started to claim the PPI on my littlewoods credit card in sept 2009, they wrote to me saying they were looking into it, I heard nothing so I phoned them and they said they were still dealing with it, still I heard nothing so I phoned them again and got the same response, still I heard nothing so I phoned them yesterday and they told me that the PPI had been cancelled in november and that I couldn't claim on something that didn't exist, I asked them who had cancelled it and they said that I had phoned them and cancelled, which is a lie. what should I do now???

If the PPI has been cancelled since you complained then you should reclaim all the premiums and interest on those premiums paid up to November when the policy was cancelled.

Do it in writing, not on the telephone. Letters and info in PPI - payment protection insurance - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum

I had to refer my claim to with barclaycard to the ombudsman, well I have just recieved a letter from the FOS saying that
'Barclaycard have agreed to make an offer to settle my complaint. Barclays Bank PLC will be writing to you to explain the precise terms of its proposed settlment - however, it has told us that it will be based on the general approach that the Financial Ombudsman Service takes when we decide that a consumer has been mis-sold a PPI policy'
Can anyone explain this to me please.

Looks like Sharkley are making the right noises to keep the FOS happy and avoid any compensation claims, which is within the FOS's power to demand.

Normally they offer all payments PLUS 8% statutory interest.
