That's a very good start. Do you mind if I redraft it a little?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

I have removed quite a lot as I think you are saying too much. Also don't send them any financial details, wait till they send you an income and expenditure form to fill in.
I've also removed the explicit request to write off the account, they like to think gestures like that are their idea, so I'd hold back on requesting that as yet.

          Dear Sir/Madam

I am getting in touch because I understand that Link Financial may have purchased my account XXXXXX from Barclays.
The reason that this account became defaulted was because three years ago, I became very sick and I returned to my home country, to be with my family and to have tests to find out what was going on with my health; which led to me being diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the end of 2019. I had 2 major surgeries between 2019 and 2020

I was given a poor prognosis, so it took a lot of time and money to undergo all the further tests and find a specialist oncologist, as my ovarian tumour is very rare.

In 2020 following the major surgery where my cancer diagnosis was confirmed, I was then put on to a chemotherapy regime and for this I was declared unable to work due the long recovery required.

I recently moved in February 2022 back to the UK , so I will need to start my life here again and my family will support me until my finances and health are improved, as I will need to have follow up treatment for a very long time due my young age.

I enclose a copy of a letter from my specialist that refers me for treatment in the UK as evidence of my health situation.
Unfortunately, my circumstances are unlikely to improve in the foreseeable future and I have no assets to sell to help clear any debt.

I don't live anymore at the address you have listed in your system, so I won't be able to receive any letters that you will send me, I would prefer you contact me via email.

          Yours sincerely,

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. No worries at all, best of luck with it. This letter just sets out your position. Let's see what they come back with, you can always write back asking for a compassionate solution. I would not provide them with a physical address because they could use that to pursue legal action. In all likelihood, they may ask for a token £1 per month payment, but please remember if you agree to that, the debt will not become time barred in six years. If they don't agree to wipe off the account, then you will have to decide how to handle them going forward.

                Celestine

                Good morning.

Today I received an SMS text by link financial which said I have to call them right now and start to arrange payments
I told them that I have sent them an email and referrer to it because I explained my actual situation

They replied me back saying that isn't true I have sent them an email , and they invite me to call and start to pay

Then I replied them back saying to pay attention because I have sent them this email and I don't wish to talk with them by phone. I have attached to them a screenshot of time and date of the email and referred number of the claim.

What else should I do if they push me to call them or start to pay? I'm unemployed at moment

Hmm that is not right. Link have a very well trained vulnerable persons team so I'm surprised they've ignored this first communication.

Do not call them, keep all communications in writing. Please resend the email marked URGENT FAO: VULNERABLE PERSONS TEAM

Good morning Celestine . I hope do you remember me
since last time we spoke on private message after I called link financial over 6 months ago. I didn't hear back them . Today I received a letter from them of arrears on balance saying that I haven't made any payment to them. Last time I spoke to them they assured me that my account was on hold as my delicate situation. I don't know what should I do now

                        Hey Whitechork x

I hope you are doing ok? It is normal for 'holds' to be placed on the account for 3 months or 6 months typically.
They will then re-contact you to see where you are at.
Ask to speak to their vulnerable persons team and explain whether things have improved, not changed or got worse. I checked with them after your last message and they are definitely aware of your circumstances.

                          Hi Celestine,
The letter is dated on 12/12/2022 but only received this week. No one from Link Financial has tried to contact me either by phone or email before, this is the first time I hear back from them since the last update of the post even if they told me would have got in touch by September 2022.
There are a few phone number to call there and all of them usually automated call that try to direct to a payment. Is there a direct dial for the Vulnerable Persons Team or try to call on the number shown on the letter attached to this post?
                          Thanks again

File away they are supposed to send an annual statement just for info. part of procedure., many companies fail to send out. just file away by date order. no action needed.

Thanks for attaching that letter. Mike is absolutely right, this is just the statutory annual notice.

They are not escalating things and from what I know personally of the staff at Link, they are aware of your circumstances and are very unlikely to do anything unhelpful. I really shouldn't 'grade' debt companies, but trust me, they are one of the nicer ones by far!
