  • Link Financial send me an email, any advice

    Good morning
I received an email from link financial telling me to call them and nothing else, except for the reference number.

I had a debt in 2019 with Barclays but I never received a thing from them.

I didn't pay back all my card in full due health situation, I had cancer and I'm still struggling with money and back to my normal life .

    What should I do?

if you have not told barclays etc change of address, as paperwork goes to last known address/ then if they continue you loose, then if necessary set aside cost £255 and hope the case gets started again (if you have a chance of winning, or wrong address they used to obtain CCJ

I didn't informed Barclays to be honest

At that time I discovered cancer and they gave a bad prioginois with a few month of life
So I back to my home country and start there my health plan treatment and surgery. I completely forgot about it to be honest it was a very dark moment for me and it was last of my thought...

So what do you think I should do, call them? Or wait then to see if they find me the new address. I moved back in UK last month and I'm not using Barclays anymore

I would suggest that you inform Barclays of new address so as not get a CCJ by the back door). how long ago did you make last payment or any contact with barclays?

Given the circumstances of this debt occurring and it being relatively new, I would contact Barclays urgently and ask them to consider a compassionate solution. The debt may have been sold under the Law of Property Act to Link Financial, they are a debt purchaser not a debt collector, so it is very likely they are the new owners of the debt. They will be writing to you at your old address because that is all they have from Barclays.
You can also contact Link Financial to explain the situation. Because of your health they have to treat you with decency.
If you rely on them not having your address to trace you then this could advance quickly to a court claim and cause a CCJ to be issued without your knowledge.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Thank you for getting back to me
                              In my defense

I am sorry that I was unable to keep up my monthly payments , punctuality it has always been one of my strength but this time I failed on my duty .

This is because in the last 3 years I started to be very sick and I relocated to my country to understand what was going on before to find out in the end of 2019 I had ovarian cancer.

I had 2 major surgery one end of 2019 and one in 2020

In 2019 I was given a bad prognosis so it took very long time and money to do all the health check up and find a specialist as my tumor is not very known as it rare

In 2020 I had the major surgery were cancer diagnosis was confirmed and I was put under chemotherapy regime and for this I was declared unable to work due long recovery

due the recent pandemic covid 19 that made everything more complicated, I have claimed benefits in my home county as I couldn't afford to be without an income . Now I'm am waiting to hear the outcome of my claim , as they will stop my benefits once I changed country.

I recently moved in February 2022 in the UK , so i Will need to start everything from the bottom , and my family will sustain me untill I will be ok with finance and health as I need to have following up for very long time due my young age.

My situation is unlikely to improve for at least 3 months.

I enclose a copy of my financial statement and a copy of my specialist that refer me to a specialist in the UK that could help me to spread the cost if I can travel every time in my country and pay fto everything .

This shows income and expenses for me. You will see from this information that I am unable to make any offer of payment

Unfortunately, my circumstances are unlikely to improve in the foreseeable future and I have no assets to sell to help clear my debt

I am therefore asking you to consider writing off my debt as I can see no way of ever repaying it or a compassionate action to help me

If you are unable to agree to this, please explain your reasons

I don't live anymore at the address you have listed in your system, so I won't be able to receive any letter that you will send me
