Good Afternoon, I have received a cheque this morning from Vanquish! Although it is nowhere near the amount of the default charges, they have upheld my complaint in regards to the repayment option charges. Should I just take the cheque and say ta very much or argue my case further in the fact I haven't received anywhere near the total charges they applied on the account. AS I said, I am grateful for the cheque they have sent and surely admitted their liability in regards to to the extortionate charges they originally applied in 2012. It doesn't not show on my CF anymore as is marked as closed and partially settled, it may already have disappeared. Should I bank the cheque and full and final settlement?

Re: ROP Charges
Have they given you an idea of how they have calculated the sum that they have offered you for the ROP ? They do normally break it down into the amount charged, interest attached and additional charges attached.
Have they said the payment is a guesture of goodwill or actually admitted misselling ?
When you did settle the account do you know how much was outstanding, and does the difference, in essence, cover other charges they'd applied ?
If the debt is settled and closed, and you are happy with the amount they have offered, there's no reason not to cash the cheque.
And well done for getting the complaint in and accepted#staysafestayhome

Re: ROP Charges
The breakdown in ROP charges is explained, the only real issue now is seeing if it has been removed from my CF as it was still showing thanks to lowlifes (got turned down Oct 17 for a remortgage) so just want to get everything else cleaned up asap.As far as the whole thing goes, I just want to lay it to rest, thinly thing that hasn't been refunded are the £12 charges in fees they levied which they deemed fair in a previous letter so I thought, if it isn't shown on my CF I will leave it and put it to rest.

Re: ROP Charges
Have you got a free Noddle account for your credit file? Worth having a look on there - if it didn't default till 2012 it might have a few months to go before it falls off. When did you make the partial settlement and get the account closed ? If that was more than 2 years ago the mortgage co might be more generous if you discuss it with them. Even if Lowell have started reporting it they can't change the original default date so it would still only show for the 6 years from default.#staysafestayhome

Re: ROP Charges
Yes I have checked on Noddle. The account was closed by Lowells and I have all the letters associated with that little argument! It was over 2 years ago now, (Nov 2015, partially settled according to noddle, not showing experian on cf report), we were advised by the mortgage chap to get a copy of our credit reports which did from experian. We just don't know why Lloyds said no for the mortgage as it would save about £200 a month!
