  • Urgent help needed - bank cant provide a copy of the default

I've just found out HSBC have issued 2 defaults, one on my old bank account and one on my old credit card.

I have moved house 6 times in 4 years and forgot to change my address with HSBC.

HSBC have advised that they do not have a copy of the defaults and cannot provide me with a copy of what was sent. Do I have an argument that these defaults should be removed. If so can you please advise what I need to say to them?

    Kind regards

If you failed to meet your contractual payments, then they have the right to record a default. Banks don't normally keep copies of default notices issued. If the defaults were recorded in error then you have an argument to get them removed, however, if your only argument is that you didn't get the DNs, then you wouldn't have one.
