No its not in joint names, top and bottom of it is over the last 2 years HSBC have caused our business to close, nearly bankrupt me and if they think I am going to pay them without a fight they have another thing coming. They have duped me into signing things I wouldnt normally sign and basically screwwed me! So its my time to fight back and get some money back from the bank vampires!

Why is the back of the statement in Dollars ?

Yep no prescribed terms in the application at all. Well except Right to Cancel.

Have you got the copy of the orginal terms and conditions mentioned in the letter ?

That 'statement' looks like it was knocked up by someone on a word processor/design program in my view. The dollars instead of pounds on the back sheet is a bit of a giveaway, as is the maths on the front, the 'direct debit payment' would have a minus next to it if it were automatically made?

And on a side note, the default sum notice states quite clearly they declare your default sum to be $12, yet they charged you 12 pounds. They also do not specify a currency, so is that US dollars? Zimbabwe dollars? *pedantic*

          63. Duty to supply copy of executed agreement.

          subsection (1) applies, or

          (b)
the unexecuted agreement was sent to the debtor or hirer for his signature and, on the occasion of his signing it, the document became an executed agreement.

Amethyst, "Well except Right to Cancel"
What do you mean by this? I can cancel? or wait for them to close account?
I do have some terms and conditions that are printed seperately on A4 paper.

No just meant that the Right To Cancel box is on the agreement.

Any ideas why the back of the statement is in $ rather than £ ?

To be honest I havent a clue. From experience of dealing with HSBC I think they are just thick! I dont think they employ people who can think for themselves. Is the $ important on the statement? Does the application look like its unenforcable?
