Hang on, why is the Feb payment £252.42 when the normal payments are £202.42 and there are £40 charges

I expect those fees are charges for phone calls, maybe when they rang they said he owed another tenner for that call.

With a loan you are ALWAYS in arrears

But you can make lump sum reductions of the loan

I mean arrears with agreed payments, the £10 was not added to the account it was just paid, so imo he was not charged it.
