Take someone you know with you because I wouldn't trust a word they said plus remember the recent headlines about locking a customer in a room on their own?

Re: £800 charge for not paying into new Santander account!

      Hi Beagles,

Latest: I've paid Santander! I wanted to avoid the bad credit report and it was really hanging over my head so I feel LOADS better. I've paid them off with my HSBC overdraft I don't use so hopefully that will give me some muscle when complaining to HSBC.

HSBC manager of my local branch called again asking me to come in and I said I've been advised to keep things in writing; he didn't sound surprise and asked me to send Santander statements to him so he can see what we're dealing with. Does this bode well? I said in my email that my HSBC loan repayment has by far and away racked up the biggest charges for me with Santander.

Now it's paid, I can concentrate on applying for my charges to be revoked through the normal channels you clever people use. Even if HSBC don't compensate me, I think I can have a go at claiming back these DAILY unarranged overdraft and returned direct debit charges.

Again, thanks to EVERYONE who has posted back to me. So so helpful xxx

Good Luck with fighting the next stage Shih Tsu :beagle:
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Re: £800 charge for not paying into new Santander account!

So, HSBC got back to me and after investigations, it looks like they over charged me £311 during the changeover mess up process. They want to may me that back which is good.

The wording of the letter looks like if I accept the £311, that's case closed. I think I may have a further case for compensation as I now have it in writing that I was given false info in branch...however, I did still agree to Santanders switching service so maybe it's just best to stop here with HSBC, accept the £311 and then start on recliaming the charges built up by Santander?....

            Hi,

I just noticed yesterday Santander have made same charges (approx 270 pounds) to my account also which I have never used. This is unbelievable. How can they charge overdraft charges for a 5 pound monthly fees/charge.

Can you please let me know what happened in your case. Did you had to make the payment. Would appreciate your help.

            Thanks

When were the charges from? I would query why you have been charged with Santander unless you have their account where you need to pay in £1000.00 a month

If everyone stopped using them they would soon pish off back to Espana where they belong.
Gotta say i agree with you on this. Left santander they are ruthless. Now in debt to them. Although, the DCA i suspect are on ther own!!
