Anybody got a strong letter whereby a joint account request to single account, as one named not using as they hold their own account, I tried ages ago but the HSBC rep said cannot be done because of overdraft on account ( this is in dispute under the charges refund issue).?????

the other party to the account needs to sign for it to be put in single names, and no they wont do it whilst in debt as they currently have two parties to chase for the debt, and the debt is based on two parties having the account (ie the original OD limit etc) so to make it a single account the debt needs to be paid up or translated into a single product such as a loan etc and then both parties sign to close/change account to single party.#staysafestayhome
