Well, I was panicing the other week as Abbey had finally found me I had an unauthorised overdraft with them which was solely made up of charges around 900 squid...

CurlyBen calmed me down and told me to send the account in dispute letter which I did.

This morning I received 3 letters from them....


1, Sod off and die letter out charges are legit dated 23/09 (slightly confused I didnt ask for them back just put acc in dispute)


2, We have had a change of heart...here is a £50 cheque plus we have wiped all of your charges.....we have also cancelled any upcoming charges up until end October.... this letter dated the very next day 24/09

3, statement of account saying I owed £163 in charges fo billing period September/ October 23/09



So without requesting my charges back they have wiped them clean and given me £50 ???

Now that's what I like to hear.



Why can't all of the banks act in this manner.
They clearly know they are on to a loser with accounts that are solely charges, yet they continue to brow beat people into paying a debt that doesn't actually exist !!

I am stunned have read the letter 3 times to be sure Charges wiped clean and 50 quid for not requesting my charges back...maybe more people should put their accounts in dispute....
