Hey guys Just started preparing my letter to HSBC with a list of all the charges that I think should be included, thing is I'm not sure if they should all be included in the list. It seems that around 2004, HSBC had a different policy with fines, because I have a lot of CHARGE references on my statements of £10, £30. These are not the usual TOTAL CHARGES like the ones from the past year or so, so I'm just wondering, are they classed as 'unfair'? Probably a daft question, but just want to clarify. Cheers Jen

The £30 ones are definitely unfair, does it say what the £10 ones were for?

At a random guess, without any further information, could it be possible that the £10 charges are an account fee? I.E. Did you have any extra services, such as travel insurance, breakdown cover or the like thrown in with the account?

The £10 is usually around the norm for banks to charge for these so called "premium" accounts?

        Hi Ditto,

I have just finished a claim against HSBC, they paid out on the LBA. Not saying they will in your case, but hopefully they will. The £10 charges even though I included these in my claim were rejected, but they only totaled a small percentage of the amount claimed.
