Hi I have just signed up with an estate agent to sell my property and was wondering if there was a legal cooling off period

I believe it is seven days but will check. Do you have a copy of the contract for estate agency services you signed? Did you sign up in your home or at their office, or online?

Okay this is from OFT guidance for estate agents issued in 2011.....

Cancellation of Contracts made in a Consumer's Home or Place of Work etc. Regulations 2008 (the 'doorstep selling regulations') require you, when entering into contracts with consumers away from your business premises, to provide a minimum seven-day cooling off period and to notify consumers clearly in writing that they have the right to cancel and how they can do this.
