a company best no to use, as they just pass the parcel with little or no effort, also use payment office who are never at home or repond to letters.

Re: Notice of Statutory Demand letter received

I just had my response from our contact at the MOJ

Consumernet Ltd is authorised by us under CRM11459. There is no requirement for the business to display their authorisation number, as long as it states that it is authorised by the Claims Management Regulator.

      So that answers my question.

Now we have to wait for the poster to post up his documents to see exactly why they have raised a SD.

If the poster actually does owe this money under the terms of the contract then it would be my suggestion is to pay enough to get it below £750, then bankruptcy cannot ensue, but the poster would have to apply for a set aside to get the amount under the limit and then try to arrange a payment plan for the balance or indeed pay it if it is due. But in any case a set aside must be done within the 18 days.

We have to find out if the poster received his PPI claim payment direct 100% of the claim or if it went via Consumernet whether they have already taken their percentage out so need to find out what the makeup of £800 consists of. Have they issued an invoice, have they given a breakdown of this amount or is it a figure plucked out of thin air.

Or, indeed, if ConsumerNot charged him £800 for having "won" him bugger all.

That was my initial reaction too!!

          No, it was unrelated.

Have you considered making a payment to take the debt under £750 (I don't know how much charges have been added to it so don't know if that is a possibility) and making a repayment arrangement with them ?
I don't have any of the paperwork anymore. I am fairly sure that I do actually owe them money and I am willing to pay, however it would have to be in some sort of repayment plan.

Hmm well that 'Particulars of Claim' is very very weak indeed. Anyone could say you haven't paid an invoice.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

What "costs" account for the other £168.13?

Re: Notice of Statutory Demand letter received

Based on the total of £968.13, that would equate to £806.78 + Vat at 20%

They say on the SD it was for an invoice, do you ever recall receiving a VAT invoice for this amount. If you did what date was the invoice issued?

They cannot charge you VAT if they have not sent you a VAT invoice showing a VAT number on it.

Do you remember what repayment you actually received on your PPI claim and would £806.78 be 25% of that sum? My calculations would be that your claim would have been in the region of £3880

Are you absolutely certain that they did not take their 25% + VAT directly from you PPI claim?

The SD stated that the invoice was 26/01/2010.

What was the VAT rate back then, before Gideon Osbourne hiked it up to 20%?

Marvellous. Well done for getting it sorted.

Do you have the agreement to the arrangement in writing ?

Do you need to have a look at your 17k ex secured loan or are you happy that is under the mat now?
