    Ive just sent them proof of mine and my sons disabled status

    The car I use to drive to and from a shop that I co own, it is 11 miles away and we have no public transport in the area to get to it

      Have you contacted the council direct to make an arrangement to pay them telling them eveyrthing about yourself and your son

        You need to speak with the council. Do not accept any nonsense about not being able to take back the debt; if they try that, escalate the call to their supervisor, then the office manager.

        I have just emailed Chandlers informing them of myself and my son's disabled status and the fact that my car is needed as i am self employed and as i live in a rural location is the only way for me to carry out my job
        That may tend to put them off, but it may also encourage the buggers by giving the impression that you'd do anything to stop them taking your car.

        You'd probably have done better to tell that to the council.
