I don't have a problem with making the payments but I just can't deal with the bailiffs. Just want a resolution ASAP so I can stop worrying. All your comments have made me feel a little more at ease though so thanks guys & will keep you updated.
Luckily, my local hospital is the largest teaching hospital in Europe. That, plus a brilliant GP, I had a diagnosis within 16 months of the onset of symptoms. I've had FMS for just over three years I found out about the ulcer in November 2012 when it ruptured and I ended up in A & E, minus just short of nine pints of blood. I know what you mean about the CFS. However, the ulcer rupturing and the heavy duty antibiotics they give you to kill the bug that causes them has helped this aspect. The FMS, as it affects me, is made worse by very cold and very hot weather. The heatwave during the summer sparked off a flare that has caused further muscle wasting, meaning I have to use a motorised wheelchair if I go out anywhere. However, stress doesn't help. Also, the dreaded Fibro Fog!

Not unless they want to wave goodbye to their bailiff certificates. They would need to have gained peaceable and lawful entry and obtained a valid and lawful levy and be refused entry before they could force entry using a locksmith. If they don't have this, they need an order, signed in ink by a judge, to force entry. If they have neither, they are in deep doo-doo.

Have you never read their website. Originally used to charge £130 a throw and made lots of different claims about all sorts of things but if memory serves me right they got more than a telling off .

Sorry got it, it's ''AdviceUK’s Group Debt Licence''

                  http://www.adviceuk.org.uk/group-debt-licence-2/

They also have a site on Business Rates Advisors. (same DPA ref Z3283788)

Just looking into whether, once the immediate issue with the OP's council tax is sorted out, it is worth complaining about the 'service' received from this firm ?

I would say so, Op has suffered serious detriment as a result of their "intervention"

They deserved more than a telling off, too!

Even castration would probably be too lenient for them...

I think they claimed to members of different organisations (IRRV & others) and used the relevant logos of those organisations & believe it was one of those that took them to task, which when done left them with a website that looked as if Noddy & Big Ears had designed.

Maybe should have another thread on this rather than jamming up the OP's Jacobs thread. ??

(their old site is on wayback archive and thier original company is proposal to strike off - they charged £145!)

Thanks guys! Well I have managed to get a 28 day suspension on the bailiffs. I spoke 2 my council today and they had indeed received an email from the Council Tax advisors, however no one had bothered to look into it their end, they have apologised (not really good enough) and said they are going to look into it as a matter of priority and have called the hounds off, at least for now!

Good news! Hope you can get an affordable arrangement in place with them and that the pressure's off for now.
