Okay I have tried your advice, Cleverclogs, But it didn't work. I kept getting an "unresponsive" message. Any other ideas?

I'll PM you my email address. "Cut and Paste" doesn't seem to work with all browsers.

        Hi Bluebottle,

Okay I have just replied to your email attaching my complaint to HMCTS.

        Thank you for doing that.

Okay. In order to update the thread, I have looked through the OP's complaint and, with their agreement, forwarded it to a contact I have at HMCTS as regards pursuing the matter on a formal basis with HMCTS.

Just to update the thread, I am still waiting on a response to my complaint from the HMCTS. I know it is early days yet, but I have not yet even received an acknowledgement of receipt for my complaint. Does anyone know how long it takes for the HMCTS to acknowledge receipt of a complaint sent by email?

Like all civil servants, they suffer from terminal inertia. You could write, expressing concern about the unreliablity of the post ...

Have you thought about taking it up with your MP - he/she may get a prompt response.

The person the complaint was sent to is fairly senior and isn't always in the office. The other matter is that they may be on Annual Leave. Take Ploddertom's advice and contact your MP, soonest. If you don't hear back within a week, I will send a follow-up email.

                        Okay. Update, folks.

The contact at HMCTS has advised the matter goes to the HMCTS Correspondence, Complaints and Litigation Unit to be dealt with. I'm helping the OP fine-tune the complaint before it is submitted.
