You would be better taking it to the court so that they can see the original. Take a photocopy with you as well so that they have a copy for their records. Did HMCTS say they were suspending enforcement action or recalling the Distress Warrant?

It is not unusual for HMCTS to inform their contracted bailiff companies within one hour of learning that a conviction is defective to either suspend all enforcement action or that they are recalling a DW. However, Marstons have "form" for "forgetting" they have been told and continue with enforcement regardless.

If the DW has been recalled or enforcement suspended, the bailiff has no right in law or lawful authority to return. If the bailiff returns, the OP would do best to dial 999, tell the police the court has recalled the DW or suspended enforcement action and could they attend to assist in removing the bailiff from their property.

They must be big cars if the horses drive them - or do you hitch up the horses to a car to save on petrol?

Go onto the Maston web site, email the customer care department, quote their reference number and ask for the Courts reference for this convition.

Then you would be able to find out from WY-cec@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk. the convicting Court and what the alleged offence was.

However, the old vehicles that you are using "off road", are subject to a SORN, if you did not do that it could well be that the fine is legitimate.
The Black rat (Rattus rattus) is a common (hence the accusation of being Pleb) long-tailed rodent of the genus Rattus (rats) in the subfamily Murinae (murine rodents). The species originated in tropical Asia and spread through the Near East in Roman times (another thing that we ought to thanks the Romans for, besides roads, aqueducts and public toilets) before reaching Europe by the 1st century and spreading with Europeans across the world.

A mutation of the beast now comes black leather clad, riding a motorcycle that looks like a battenbergh cake on wheels.

A skilled predator, totally ruthless with it's prey, but also known to be extremely generous in doling out tickes that can provide points for motorists who want to downsize from mechanically propelled vehicles to bycicles.

Just had a thought, Sir Vere. If the OP has had a Change of Use done on these vehicles so that they are now classed as Agricultural Vehicles, rather than Private & Light Goods, it may be yet another DVLA blunder.
