It's not a legal requirement for a private residence, but worthwhile putting one up. I used to get TVL goons calling regularly for another address same number different street. It got annoying showing them my TV License then asking them to foxtrot oscar and not come back They haven't been back since I put one up to warn about my cameras

(thanks bluebottle!!!!) Ive never heard someone shut up so quick in my life, brilliant Love u guys!
Good for you, Charlie! I hope you recorded her saying what she did. When you delivered the verbal smack in the mouth and shut her up, I bet she went trotting off to the ladies after you rang off. Being told something like that can have something of a purgative effect.

Anyway I know if I pay in full to the council all I will owe him is £24.50 for his letter through the door visit,
Whilst I note that you've paid the council, there remains the matter of the bailiff's fees.

If he merely visited and left a letter, the most he can lawfully charge is £24.50.

If he levied distress on your motor car and left a Form 7 Notice of Seizure, the most he can charge is the levy fee which, for a debt of £400, is £36.50. He may not charge both Visit Fee and Levy Fee for the same visit.

His claim to be owed £300 in fees is preposterous!

If he claims he has a levy, and no Notice of Seizure was left at the time of the alleged levy, then he was very naughty and deserves a slap.

Keep a log or diary of all the calls this oaf makes, as that evidence may be useful if you get him prosecuted for harassment.

                  It certainly is not right.

Can you scan it, remove any personal data using an image editor and post it up via photobucket or some such site?

Failing which, could you type in a redacted copy of that document?

Keep those two voicemails because they could be very useful if you have to send a letter to the District Judge at the court that issued the bailiff's certificate. I am wondering if it is worth warning this bailiff that the courts can revoke a bailiff certificate without a Form 4 or a hearing by using powers under the Civil Procedures Rules 1998. Views on this, anyone?

Get it in writing off the council that the LO is discharged, then when the muppet phones tell him the LO is gone and the council have his lawful fees.

I knew i shouldn't have spoke to him on the phone!! It all went very wrong and i lost my temper

I just wanted to tell him that i've paid my debt plus hes fee's to the council and to tell him to leave me alone but ended up getting very angry! Why is he lying so much??!!
He told me i owe him £204.50 and when i asked what it was for he said he had sent me two letters in the post?? I said how can he prove it, he said its on the system , cause it is!! He said i cant prove he didn't send them as much as i cant prove he did, but did mention that he has the law on hes side and i do not! The other day was honestly the first i have heard of Randles..

He then told me he will be getting the police involved and he will be back in the morning, and he will also be taking me to court!
He then went on to say every time he has to come to my house the fee's will just go up and up blah blah. What an arrogant ar*e!!
I then told him to f*** oFF and hung up. Grrr im so angry, what can i do now guys? I wont be talking to him on the phone again as i just cannot keep my cool Maybe writing to their head office will be a better option for me?
