OP could phone the bailiff and play "For the love of Money" by the O Jays down the line, or maybe Little Lies by Fleetwood Mac? Seriously I think the bailiff is getting desperate as he sees those beer tokens vanishing from his grubby paws.

I just wanted to tell him that i've paid my debt plus hes fee's to the council and to tell him to leave me alone but ended up getting very angry! Why is he lying so much??!!
He told me i owe him £204.50 and when i asked what it was for he said he had sent me two letters in the post?? I said how can he prove it, he said its on the system , cause it is!! He said i cant prove he didn't send them as much as i cant prove he did, but did mention that he has the law on hes side and i do not! The other day was honestly the first i have heard of Randles..

He then told me he will be getting the police involved and he will be back in the morning, and he will also be taking me to court!
He then went on to say every time he has to come to my house the fee's will just go up and up blah blah. What an arrogant ar*e!!
I then told him to f*** oFF and hung up. Grrr im so angry, what can i do now guys? I wont be talking to him on the phone again as i just cannot keep my cool Maybe writing to their head office will be a better option for me?
Did you record the call at all, Charlie? This bailiff is now seriously pushing it. I have a feeling few, if any, certificated bailiffs are aware that the Circuit or District Judge at the court that issued their certificate can relieve them of said certificate without a Form 4 complaint and without holding a hearing. The bailiff in your case seems totally above the clouds. Writing to Rundles head office might be an option. Calm down first and then let us help you draft a suitable letter.

He is as likely to tell the police as next doors cat is likely to rip his throat out next time he calls, or Spiny Norman is going to mistake him for Dinsdale Pirhana. He is out of order and a letter to the DJ at the certifying court would be good.

Having looked through your more recent posts, Charlie, my feeling is that this bailiff is at risk of losing his certificate. A bailiff can only demand you pay fees the law permits and for work he can prove he has carried out. Making unwarranted demands and using threats to enforce them when he does not have a right in law to make the demands in the first place is a very serious matter indeed.

Just because something is "on the system" does not, in itself, amount to evidence that the bailiff has a right in law to demand you pay a fee.

Although next-door's cat is unlikely to rip the bailiff's throat out if he puts in an appearance, the MD of Rundles is more likely to want to rip his throat out when he receives a letter pointing out just how serious his behaviour is and the possible consequences thereof.

As for the bailiff involving the police, they unlikely to get involved, but more likely to put him on the pavement outside the police station on his backside if he goes in doing a moan. As for him taking you to court, I'd like to see him justify the fees to a judge and see him struggle when put to strict proof.

Yes, he can touch your car - but it is most unlikely that he could lawfully levy distress on it or seize it to satisfy his demands for money.

Furthermore, the nature of his threats - taking you to court, or somehow getting the police involved - does rather suggest that he knows he hasn't much chance of lawfully squeezing you to pay him what he demands.

If the council offices are open on Saturday, check that the Liability Order has been satisfied - otherwise, do that on Monday.

Of course he can .... if he wants his fingers burnt!

If the second visit demanding the sum of his telephone numbers was made after the LO was paid .... even if the fees were not, which in fact they were .... the bailiff can not charge for this further visit because there was no reason for it.

Part of the procedure to enforcing liability orders is to check with Head Office before visiting the defaulter, if any payments have been made .... he obviously didn't.

                      Total muppetry!
The Black rat (Rattus rattus) is a common (hence the accusation of being Pleb) long-tailed rodent of the genus Rattus (rats) in the subfamily Murinae (murine rodents). The species originated in tropical Asia and spread through the Near East in Roman times (another thing that we ought to thanks the Romans for, besides roads, aqueducts and public toilets) before reaching Europe by the 1st century and spreading with Europeans across the world.

A mutation of the beast now comes black leather clad, riding a motorcycle that looks like a battenbergh cake on wheels.

A skilled predator, totally ruthless with it's prey, but also known to be extremely generous in doling out tickes that can provide points for motorists who want to downsize from mechanically propelled vehicles to bycicles.

It's a dirty job, but someone got to do it!

                          Yes.

As it seems the Rundles's oaf hasn't bothered to check that the Council Tax has been paid, send a letter to them (and copied to the Head of Revenues at the council) informing them that the debt has been paid. Enclose a photocopy of the receipt with each letter, if you got a receipt; if you only got an email receipt, enclose copies of that.

Also, hide your motor car and anything else outside your house that you'd not like the jerk to take. If you have a garage that can be securely locked, use that for storage of your motor car (and so on) until, at least, the council has informed you in writing that the account has been withdrawn from Rundles.

Keep the text. Have you checked with the local authority that the Liability Order has been discharged and when? If it was discharged prior to his silly behaviour, he is stuffed.
