The discussion turned when eloise was slagged off for stating facts i have no sympathy with law breakers who choose to ignore court cases and the aftermath they get what they deserve

We are always going to have emotive issues in the bailiff forum. My sole concern is with getting the poster the information they need in a clear, factual way. Disputes, whether right or wrong, hinder that. My post was thus unemotional and gave just the facts needed.

Fair enough Labman but my view is no tax may mean no insurance ?

Possibly, but nothing at all to do with the question asked.

Maybe but on this forum there are lot of nothing to do with question replies, lets have sympathy with those in genuine need not those who have broken the law ,they thought that a disabled badge was so easy to get so breaking the law must have been easy to forget>all the time i pay my dues i hold no truck with those who try to get away with it

You are entitled to your opinion. I happen to specialise in bailiffs, and you rarely get bailiffs without something having gone wrong. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with you, I just get on and help the posters, along with lots of other, unrelated posts as well. :beagle:

I appreciate the point of view Labman, and I don't condone breaking the law whoever does it - bailiff or debtor. But the OP managed to come up with the full amount owed in a few hours when it mattered enough to them. If it had mattered enough to them earlier none of this would have happened, and it would have been considerably cheaper too.

Would his insurance have been valid at the time?

I suggest you contact site admin and ask them to remove the bailiff section then, as much of what is dealt with here deals with the breaking of laws.

I realise that Eloise. You divorce yourself from situations in the same way on the employment forum, and give advice unemotionally and totally objectively. I do wonder if either the post was not genuine (we've had a fair few recently), or there is someone out there who sadly has gone without the help they could have had, as if genuine it's unlikely they'd have come up with the money like that.

Anyway, it is irrelevant now - we move on to the next person.

To be honest, the veracity of the post had occurred to me, but I did take it at face value. What I found distasteful was the attempt to use a red herring in that the OP is a nice person who helps disabled children as an excuse. I'd have happily got that people can make foolish decisions trying to avoid reality. I'd have understood that sometimes people can't afford the problems they get into. Those people are also nice people. But using children with disabilities as an excuse for why you shouldn't be treated in the way that everyone else is - I just found that objectionable. And while I have every sympathy with people who genuinely lie awake at night wondering if they can afford £15 in instalments, I don't know many of them who come up with £600 when they want to.

I think it regrettable, but probably par for the course, that every now and then the good intentions of people like you, with expert knowledge and who can help the genuinely distressed, are exploited by those who simply wish to evade their responsibilities.

My suggestion was not to have sympathy with those who break the law not deny them advice or help a difference there,i would not condone law breaking by anyone even bailiffs the laws are there and need to be obeyed or what do we get>
