Be worth investigating.
Does that apply if said bailiff is working as self employed?

In my view for collection of fines then they should not be sub contracting, a question betterasked of the MOJ.

Even if a trainee bailiff does visit, oughtn't he (or she) be directly supervised by a certificated bailiff?

As trainee then yes. But not all Bailiffs hold a Certificate but are restricted in the type of work they may perform.

                Just a thought?
if marstons or any bailiffs send out uncertificated bailiffs to who are self employed and they place illegal levies charges is it legal if it is then anyone who is owed money can go to the debtor and levy say thier car with a clamp and demand money and fees after all the person from marstons etc is not a biliff as is the creditor ?

Dunno why, but I have a feeling we may be about to open a can of worms here, as this is not the only issue I have found in my case..

can anyone remember what thread it was where someone said Marstons had refunded the illegal fees and then sent a bailiff out to collect them again?

Can I just say, I think we need to be careful when talking generalities about assuming it's Marstons. Marstons get 75% of bailiff work, so it is likely they will get more complaints, but the whole industry is rife with malpractice.

If a case refers specifically to Marstons, fine; if it doesn't, I think we need to be careful not to mention specific companies.

I am, by the way, the last to be sticking up for bailiffs, as most on here know, but we do need to be careful. The case above is a good example.
