Re: Marston took money from my credit card - no previous mail, nothing

After additional investigation I found out that another transaction (to admiral.com) was attempted and blocked before I cancelled the card.

So it does look like a scam after all. I really wonder who would be so brilliant as to pay for his (or someone else perhaps?) debts with the stolen credit card. I will go through Barclaycard process and hopefully in couple months it all should be sorted and the losses recovered. Many thanks for all the answers and help.

P.S. I have a suspicion as to who could get hold of this card number. There is one dodgy car rental company in London to which my better part gave a card number about two weeks ago. Only after we checked the google reviews of this company we realized the mistake and cancelled the booking. But that is obviously a wild guess.

Anything else I can do except going through Barclaycard recovery to help eradicate the thief from this society?

        Many thanks,
        R

Strange about the car rental company, that's where I think my card got the details taken. Phone booking by my wife.

Alas, Barclaycard will still permit the culprit to live.

Was it a London car rental based in Ealing/London by any chance? That I feel would be a too much of a coincidence.

Wasn't London, as far as I rememebr, can't remember the full details but it was a company promising to find the cheapest deal. It was flagged to Barclaycard as the most probable.
