      Re: Bailiffs from CSA

To be fair to the OP it seems as if her husband has no intention of paying towards any of his children from either marriage since he's content to let his current wife go out to work to pay for his upkeep as well as all their own children for the last eight years. I wonder what he does all day to help :couch2:

I didn't mean to sound harsh but I also didn't want the OP to feel accused of some conspiracy theory that she was only working from dawn till dusk to selfishly bring up her own children with the sole intention of depriving her husband's children from his first marriage of financial support.

Maybe he has stayed at home to look after them - to be a house husband etc - we really don't know - we also really don't know why his first marriage broke down or even whether he sees the children from this marriage. No-one would castigate a woman for staying at home to look after her infant children (would they?)

I think the bit highlighted in blue tells us that he/they did it in order to stop making the payments, I know its because they couldn't afford to but in the great scheme of things its wrong to not contribute to your childrens upbringing.

The 'why's and wherefores' of the break up are purely academic,,they are of no relevance to a 30k bill that BillyBaliff is determined to get his mitts on,,OP needs proper legal advice pronto.

Wouldn't disagree but it's complicated isn't it? "We couldn't afford to live" etc.. And we don't know the full details.

Yep sure is complicated, it still bothers me why anyone who already has children, then goes ahead and has more with another partner in the full knowledge that they can't afford to support both lots.
Perhaps I just want to live in the ideal world eh ?

That would certainly help to avoid spawning any more.

I used to work for the CSA (shoot me now) so have seen first hand some of the unfairness of the system but also how easy it is to 'dodge' them.

I'm assuming the assessments were done on the 'old' rules using the an archaic formula to work out how much should be paid. Did you inform the CSA that you had new children?

Was an Interim assessment completed? (IMA-A, IMA-B).
