Re: Bailiffs from CSA
To be fair to the OP it seems as if her husband has no intention of paying towards any of his children from either marriage since he's content to let his current wife go out to work to pay for his upkeep as well as all their own children for the last eight years. I wonder what he does all day to help :couch2:

I didn't mean to sound harsh but I also didn't want the OP to feel accused of some conspiracy theory that she was only working from dawn till dusk to selfishly bring up her own children with the sole intention of depriving her husband's children from his first marriage of financial support.Originally posted by MissFM View PostBit harsh

Re: Bailiffs from CSA
Maybe he has stayed at home to look after them - to be a house husband etc - we really don't know - we also really don't know why his first marriage broke down or even whether he sees the children from this marriage. No-one would castigate a woman for staying at home to look after her infant children (would they?)

Re: Bailiffs from CSA
I think the bit highlighted in blue tells us that he/they did it in order to stop making the payments, I know its because they couldn't afford to but in the great scheme of things its wrong to not contribute to your childrens upbringing.Originally posted by Mummy3 View PostMy husband left his ex 13 years ago and was paying CSA until we started having our own kids but we couldnt afford to live after the CSA payments so my husband gave up his job and I went out to work and have been doing so for 8 years. my husband informed the CSA that he was no longer working but over the years he kept getting letters so he owed loads of money, recently they said the were refering his case to the bailiffs and today we got a bailiff notice from Rossendales saying he has 24 hours to pay 33k our they will be taking his stuff. we live in my council house and everything we own is in my name so can they get in my house and start taking my stuff? also if hes not worked for over 8 years how can they possibly say he owes 33 thousand pounds

Wouldn't disagree but it's complicated isn't it? "We couldn't afford to live" etc.. And we don't know the full details.Originally posted by Sapphire View PostI think the bit highlighted in blue tells us that he/they did it in order to stop making the payments, I know its because they couldn't afford to but in the great scheme of things its wrong to not contribute to your childrens upbringing.

Re: Bailiffs from CSA
Yep sure is complicated, it still bothers me why anyone who already has children, then goes ahead and has more with another partner in the full knowledge that they can't afford to support both lots.
Perhaps I just want to live in the ideal world eh ?

Re: Bailiffs from CSA
I used to work for the CSA (shoot me now) so have seen first hand some of the unfairness of the system but also how easy it is to 'dodge' them.
I'm assuming the assessments were done on the 'old' rules using the an archaic formula to work out how much should be paid. Did you inform the CSA that you had new children?
Was an Interim assessment completed? (IMA-A, IMA-B).
