Re: Parking Charge Notice - Help Needed

But I have been advised to appeal to popla, but this would mean me contacting parking eye, which I have also been advised against, ohhhh my heads in a spin:tinysmile_cry_t: but at the same time I feel rather clever with myself that I have just learnt how to use the icons

Michelle, there is a conflict of two opinions here. I am aware that this site has RECENTLY started to advise to appeal the ticket via POPLA because it will cost Parking eye money to defend it and then when you lose the appeal to ignore all correspondence.
EDIT TO ORIGINAL POST: the site advice is based on this link: http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=46975
Personally, if you are so confused then the simple message is IGNORE ALL correspondence from Parking eye. They will threaten you with all sorts of things but stay strong and remember that they can do nothing. I would say take a few hours away from the forums and breathe. Then come back and you can re read everything. DO NOT re read the letter. One of my friends was really worried when they received a Parking Eye letter stating all sorts of threats and at the time I said, put the letter in the fire and keep doing so when you get them. They received only 2 more letters.

The choice as to what to do is yours: hit them in the pocket and then ignore all future correspondence and they go away or simply ignore them forever and they will go away.

One thing you should NEVER do is pay them a single penny.

        Hi,

I'm perturbed at someone on this site suggesting bailiffs might be deployed - almost 100% certainly not.

We advise one of two routes now, both fairly straightforward:

        1. Ignore. Expect a series of increasingly nasty letters, but they are likely to stop eventually.

        2. Appeal to PE then POPLA. This then costs PEye £34.50 which they have to pay within 30 days. This is starting to hit them in their pockets. If (or more likely when ) the appeal is rejected, then ignore as per number 1.

Straightforward, simple - no reason to be confused. No1 works for you; No2 works for you AND hits Parking Eye in their pocket. There is no right or wrong between the two - whichever you are more comfortable with.
