    Re: Northumbria Central Enforcement Unit

PT - is that the same unit as the one I posted earlier. It was called the Northumbria Centralised Enforcement Team - do you happen to know if they're one and the same?

Can I also ask my cart before the horse question again please - has that happened here, or was the call actually genuine?

I think it will probably be the same Unit just a different take on the name. As for the call I have to agree that HMCTS should be tackled over this first and wonder if there is a "rogue" element somewhere that has hacked a system, nicked a flash drive etc with details on them.

I have a series of customers I may see over the weekend who may know some of the answers to this, if I find anything I will post back but it won't be before Sunday evening.

Exc has just posted this up from the MOJ etc on nuisance and scam calls....http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/files/...ides-small.pdf

Tonight I had a call from LB Barnet at 8:30pm asking to participate in a research questionaire - told him I dont do these calls on the phone and then I hang up.

I have to agree, PT. These are my thoughts as well. However, I can't rule out bailiff companies, contracted to HMCTS, playing silly buggers. As posted earlier in this thread, Marston Group got caught doing something similar with letters in South West England. Devon & Cornwall Police and HMCTS Devon & Cornwall weren't best pleased when they found out. But, definitely, HMCTS need to be tackled over this at headquarters level.

An attachment of earnings set up over the telephone? Er, no. That would be strictly in writing, so the enquiry would be for a mailing address and named person. It sounds very similar to those bogus invoices sent to the 'purchase department', that rely on the fact that in a large organisation someone who doesn't know any better may rubber stamp it through.

That's what I said earlier, Enquirer. This needs chasing up with HMCTS heaquarters. I still think its a certificated bailiff company under contract to HMCTS playing silly buggers. HMCTS need to clamp down on what these companies can do or, better still, show them the two yellow and then the red card. They're too damned soft on them.
