I'll tell you about that bunch of miscreant thugs...I made the massive mistake of letting one of their 'bailiffs' into my home under the stupid delusion that I was so sick of being chased for unpaid CT it was better to sit down and get sorted (NOT something I would do now) He came in,,discussed the amount, plus all the outrageous fees, made a WPO and sat down to go through the figures,,,,,and promptly went into 'flirt' mode (I was alone at the time),,saying how beautiful my eyes are,how sometimes his job is made so much harder (and not just his job !!) by finding lovely women alone, how he wanted so much to help me,,and he could if I would let him,,after all,,he set the 'fees'..and all in all getting way too close for comfort !! Luckily,my sons g/f turned up and he soon backed off,,left my premises,,and RANG me on my mobile to ask when he could come round again to'finish what we started !!,,I asked him to ring back, giving me time to set up a recording device,,and he duly rang back,,I did NOTHING to encourage him to say anything but his conversation was,to say the least, crude and VERY sexual,,at the end I told him in no uncertain terms what would happen if he EVER rang my phone or turned up at my door again,,I contacted my local police and my council,,they both arrived at my house straight away,,a call was made to R & R big boss, and mateyboy was arrested for sexual harrassment..Council took back my account (forgot one but that was later sorted) and I've heard nothing since..

What you told this lizard, Inca, didn't happen to include a very sharp knife, no muscle relaxant and no general anaesthetic, by any chance? Good on you taking the course of action you did. The ex-Ross & Roberts bailiff who I described in an earlier post is one NICOLA SELLWOOD. She tried to lamp the seriously-ill person's daughter one, as well as mislead Hampshire Police about her powers. All due credit to Hampshire Police and especially Sergeant Mitchley, who went back to her police station, checked what powers bailiffs have, found out she and her colleagues had been lied to by SELLWOOD, went back and kicked SELLWOOD's arse good and proper. No Ross & Roberts bailiff has dared go near the seriously-ill person's home since. You did well, Inca. Nice one.

Yeah. I've seen that one before. It was filmed at Torbay. The police officers are from Devon and Cornwall Police. The officers based in the main urban areas - Exeter, Plymouth and Torbay - tend to be okay, but the ones in rural areas, let's just say they need to get out more.

Hi messi and BB,,yes,,the slug got convicted of sexual harrassment,,attempted blackmail,,threatening behaviour and attempting to pervert the course of justice (he rang me the day before the trial pretending to be a solicitor offering me an out of court settlement,,silly git didn't block his phone number and I had it stored as 'FREAK',,Copshop is only down the road from me so they came straight up) He got 4 years ( I presume he serves 2? BB?) a lifetime restraining order, never allowed to work in 'public' jobs, placed on sex offenders register and I got awarded £5000 compensation which I promptly gave to a local kids charity cos I didn't want to benefit from his filth. My reward was holding my head up high and looking straight at him when he was sentenced,,and didn't he blubber,,was wonderful That bailiff firm are scum,,all of them, male and female,,and I'm lucky BB,,Hampshire police are excellent, they always serve us well *apart from my family I have never told anyone about this,,not sure why, sounds pretty horrific written down,,but you people know so much about bailiffs it seemed daft not to share my story*

The slug, as you call him, is lucky he got only four years for that lot. The maximum penalty for Attempted Blackmail is 14 years imprisonment and the maximum penalty for Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice is life imprisonment. I can just imagine the look on the slug's face when two hairy-arsed coppers turned up on his doorstep, cuffed him and then took him down to the lock-up for a "meaningful chat" about his phone call. I'm surprised they didn't do him for Impersonating A Legal Professional as well. Did the trial judge make any recommendation as to the minimum sentence the slug had to serve before being considered for release? Going by the sentence he received, it would not surprise me if he has to serve the full term. A judge does not impose a lifetime restraining order, a total ban on working in jobs involving public administration or law and a requirement to sign the sex offenders' register lightly. Just out of curiosity, how long did the trial judge set for the length of time the slug's name had to stay on the sex offenders' register, please?

From what you've said, Inca, as things go, what the slug did was pretty serious. This is evidenced by the recommendation that the full sentence is served and the fact that he is on the Sex Offenders Register for life. The employment ban you mentioned in an earlier post is not given out lightly.

It can be quite chilling once everything is done and dusted and the reality of it all begins to sink in. It might help if you spoke to Victim Support, if this has not already been offered to you, or, better, ask your GP to refer you for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), also known as "Talk Therapy". What you need to do is go through something called de-briefing where you talk through what happened with a clinical psychologist. This allows you to unburden your feelings and any anxiety you may be suffering and allow the psychologist to advise you how to deal with your feelings and anxieties. Give it a go. It will help you put this episode in your life behind you for good.

We're all different - but made of the same stuff. Some of us handle these things better than others - but when damage has been done to our security and well-being, then it needs to be repaired and not ignored. You were forced to defend yourself and fight a battle that was not of your choosing - and you received wounds, which should be treated. What may seem like a small pin-prick can fester and become a massive infection in time.

If I may add to Bill's words of wisdom, a psychiatric nurse once said to me, "The human spirit is very powerful, but it is also very fragile." Bill is right when he says you have suffered a wound. The only difference is, in your case, you can't see the wound. Have the wound treated, as Bill recommends.

Good for you, Inca. BB's the 'pro,' and I'm the amateur - but we all seem to concur on this. FWIW, I have a daughter who has needed 'Victim Support' help. It didn't cure everything, but it sure helped ease the pain and the anger.

Oddly, counselling seems to be more readily available than prescription drugs these days. I'm all for that, to be honest.

                                Please embrace it, good lady.
