    The Bailiffs Records definitely indicates that (only one example used here - there are many) Visit Fee 1 Amount £24.50 Vat Amount £4.29 = Total £28.79

    For your further information there was no vehicle that could have be levied/seized at any time.
    If you do what you always do, you will always get what you always get!

        Here's some information relative to VAT which maybe useful. It is dated 1994 so validity needs checking.

        VAT on Bailiffs Charges for Local Authority Debt (1994)

        HM Customs have advised that their review of the application of VAT on bailiffs' fees to local authorities for collection of rates, community charge and council tax in England and Wales has been completed.

        ……… Where the authority is unable to collect from defaulters it may contract with a bailiff to collect the outstanding debt, whom is empowered to collect the arrears plus the statutory charges for enforcement of the debt. The bailiff is not contracted by the defaulter for any supply so no VAT can be charged to that person or company......
        Also top of page 5 item 5.2 of this document has relevent VAT info.
