  • Claim Form (CPR Part 8) in MS Word

    Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can obtain a Part 8 claim form in Word. Need to make a claim against a former landlord re deposit protection and would look much more professional than a hand written submission.

You can fill it in using Adobe PDF rather than Word.

I have converted to Word for you if that helps though, see attached.

If your particulars of claim are going to be longer than what is available on the form, I would be inclined to summarise the claim and then add to the end of it that detailed particulars are annexed to the form. For example:

The Claimant claims compensation pursuant to section ..... of the Housing Act 2004 for a failure by the Defendant to protect the Claimant's deposit relating to an assured shorthold tenancy.

The Claimant has annexed detailed particulars of claim to this application.

I think the relevant sections are 213-215 of the Housing Act, can't remember but I am sure you know this or someone else can point to it.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

Hi thanks for this much appreciated. Quick question do I have to attach my witness statement including the exhibit on which I intend to rely upon should the matter need a hearing? So tenancy agreement, proof of no deposit protection et al or does that come later say ?

With Part 8 it should all go together with the form.
