WHO ARE THE FINANCE / INSURANCE FIRM FOR JD WILLIAMS CATALOGUE FIRM?

Despite JD Williams admitting the catalogue accounts had ppi, they will not pay the ppi owed. The Financial Ombudsman will not help despite JD Williams admitting in writing the details of the ppi. This is because the ppi was before 2005 and the regulations were not in force then, yet the government came on TV and said claim ppi between 1990 and 2010.

The Financial Ombudsman says find out the company who did the finance / insurance for JD Williams, so can claim the ppi from them.

Does anyone know who the insurance / finance firm for JD Williams, please?

Or how to find out please? Thanks.

You'd think the FOS would know that by now, I'm sure they'll have dealt with thousands of JD Williams claims. Seems to have been underwritten by Lloyds (according to that doc Des posted )

Got reply from email to the Lloyd's, but unfortunately they inform that they have been only the underwriters for JD Williams since 2015.
So still without the information of who the underwriters were between 1998 and 2005 for JD Williams credit finance of monthly payments for catalogue orders.
How do I go about finding out that information please, does anyone know? Thanks.

Thank you for that information, but all it did was try to send the form filled in to J D Williams. I have already failed with the Financial Ombudsman, who say they cannot help. The Financial Conduct Authority do not help with individual cases. So my last hope is finding the insurance firm that provided the ppi for JD Williams between 1998 and 2005, who were covered by the rules of providing insurance back then. I've emailed the British Insurers Association but they are only a trade association. Will try and ring JD Williams on their Financial Services complaint telephone number 0345 026 3899 to see if can get the information about the previous underwriters. Will see.

The government inform that ppi ran from 1990 to 2015.
The underwriters for ppi from 2015 were Lloyd's, which is outside the scope of ppi.
When applying for ppi from JD Williams catalogue
apply direct to the insurers before 2005
Allianz (informed by phone from the insurance department of JD Williams)
Allianz HQ is 57 Ladymead, Guildford GU1 1DB

Will see if successful in application to Allianz because even back then, long before the ppi regulations, they were under the insurance regulations.
