  • RBS/Lloyds trying to repose two flats bought after reposession

I know that probably makes no sense.... Let me walk you through how I got here...

I bought a couple of flats privately from a gent I believed was the owner. We paid cash and whilst waiting for the solicitors to complete the transaction these guys disappears ... ( yes never pay cash unless solicitors have completed ! )... We are where we are.

Well moving forward some six months a bailiff comes forward claiming that the present owner is the bank ( we own other flats in the block as they were all repossessed the rest have no problem ). After he decides he is not repossessing a company come forward saying they are acting on behalf of the bank and indeed want their property. I explained who I was etc and they said they would work with me to talk to the bank.. Unfortunately since then the bank is not using them so we still have no way of talking to them and clearing the problem up...

We need help to finally resolve this with a piece of work to write to the bank etc setting out the claim..

    Can anyone help ?

You bought the flats after they had been repossessed by the bank, off of the original owner ( the person the bank repossessed the flats from?) ?

Now the bank want the flats back?

What happened with the solicitors and the sale completion ?

Whose name is on the deeds at Land Registry?

Is anyone living in the properties?

If the previous (we'll call him that for now ) owner bought the flats on a Buy To Let business/ commercial loan ((unregulated agreement) then the lender can send in the LPA Receiver without the need to go to court to get a possession order. Maybe that's who you've been dealing with on behalf of the bank (a LPA Receiver)?

I assume your aim is to establish your ownership (title) of the properties or recover the money you paid to the seller?
