    I just thought this might interest a few of you. The above company recently credit checked me 25 times in one day. It turns out I must have registered with a insurance quote engine although they say they cannot tell me who as they don't know. It is really frustrating as I have not applied for any quotes in the past ten months when confronted with this they stated that because I registered for a comparison September 2015 the site does an automatic credit check every year. would like to put a stop to this, can anyone suggest a plan.

    as a further note would like to find out who instructed can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Is this LexisNexis credit risk solutions ? They appear to carry out checks on behalf of the insurance providers. It is likely to be because you are coming up on renewal - ie that insurers are getting ready to market to you to switch supplier on renewal date.

    They should be soft searches ( so will only show to you)

    Do you recall which engine you went through when selecting insurance 10 months ago ? I'd get in touch with them and withdraw your authority for them to hold your information.
