If i owned the debt and was thinking of selling it , I would be making it as large as possible to attract the maximum profit. I don't trust banks so although NDL say they would have to take you to court again to claim the extra interest it could still be added.
It's a regulated debt, so it doesn't attract interest post-judgment.

Do you have any records for the amount the ccj was granted for, I ask because even 17 years at £5 a month only comes to around about £1000

Inspite of what Cll says above, they could still add contractual interest if the contract allowed for it, but it does seem odd unless it was an open ended credit agreement.
The authority would be OFT v First National Bank

the loan started in about 1990 can't find the agreement but i have paid 10.00 and asked for subject access info to try and determine any conditions and how much exactly the ccj was for.
but the query i have is all the annual statements reducing each year down to the level stated in first post then 3 months later with no explanation 3500 added and debt put with moorcroft.

          HI
I understand that and lets hope the SAR will help resolve the issue. At the moment there are many reasons why there could be a paper difference.

I can remember , many years ago I had two letters off the same debt purchaser with two different amounts. I was told that one was the amount I .
owed after interest had been frozen, the other was what it would have been had interest continued to accumulate.
