What does your letter actually say?

Could it be trying to give him PPI payment?

Was there PPI on the mortgage?

You may not know that since the mortgage was with your husband and his ex. Ask him.

I'm aware of letters being sent by Barclays/Woolwich to former mortgage customers so don't automatically assume it's a negative thing

I definitely wouldn't reply until the position becomes clearer.

A negative response from you may not be a good thing. No response from you may not be a bad thing.

After all the letter is not threatening you with anything nasty is it? Quite the opposite in fact.

As I understand it (I may have misunderstood) the letter is addressed to the OP's husband who lives with her at the address to which it was sent.

It would not be truthful to state they are not resident and their whereabouts are unknown.

                Thanks Di

He can't remember if it had PPI. Do you think it could be a scam?

What letters are you aware of Barclays/Woolwich sending out?

Not sure what's going to make it become clearer

                Thanks

                  Hi

I had the same letter (twice) and spend over 45 mins in a queue waiting to be answered. Eventually gave up. Has anyone managed to find out what this is about?

Yes - my husband got a refund of £26 of a charge they made 6 years ago. So it was money to him rather than money owed, but not a lot!

                      Thanks for the information.

1000s of people upset because Woowich were too lazy to chanage the letterhead and make up a less hostile title of the Director!

I had a similar letter; contacted them, and it relates to incorrect charges they made when I had a mortgage with them. Upshot is that they are issuing me a refund.
