    Re: Welcome finance & MKDP

    You and me both!
Did some digging and found out that Companies House states that Progressive Finance dissolved abut two years ago ( will find the link and post when back on PC) .
So how can Welcome use that name on the Land Registry?

What a mess!! I do feel there's a light at the end of the tunnel(not a train!) at long last.
It would be great if I could get it straight in my head what HPH2 are thinking and why this has happened, perhaps they realised they got no chance of getting any money, I have still received a letter asking me to set up a payment plan, it was a nicer letter than the one saying they may send someone round!
Should I send them a letter stating no doorstep visits or just keep quiet?

        Re: Welcome finance & MKDP

Hmm interesting, I could do with a definitive answer on this if poss?
Regarding HPH2 should I write to them stating doorstep visits? They wrote a threatening a couple weeks back - I received a letter yesterday asking me nicely to set up a payment plan!!
Are the panicking as the realise it could be statute barred soon?
        Thanks Nem!!

Thanks dogtired, perhaps the charge has been removed because it was such a mess and hph realised it was unenforceable?
My big question is -- now the debt is unsecured can it become statute barred? Would the clock start ticking from last contact even though then it was still secured or would the clock start from when it became unsecured?? Million dollar question I think!!!
If it's from point of last contact then it's coming up soon!!!!!

We thought the same for ours as Welcome made such a mess of things when we moved here.
CAB told us that both the alleged loans were unenforceable ( have that in writing) and that it was possible because of Welcomes mistakes it could now be considered statute barred, if that is the case it's now seven years since last payment on what was effectively a non existent account but if Welcome can " prove " it's secured it's five more years.:tinysmile_cry_t:

But if welcome no longer exist how can they "prove" it? But also hph2 have said its no longer secured??
I'd be interested to know on what grounds CAB said it was unenforceable?

                  Re: Welcome finance & MKDP

The actual agreement we do have, from memory its to do with the way they added the charges but will find the actual letter and post it on here, I did on another thread but its a while ago.
Not had anything from Welcome since the beginning of the year when all of a sudden they sent a letter to say a " secured loan" was now "mortgage "
I contacted them and they produced the Land Registry Documents which say " Progressive Finance trading as Welcome Financial Services" We had never seen this before or heard of Progressive Finance which as posted before are now dissolved.
The covering letter confirmed they could not find any any agreements and they would not try to commence court proceedings but then suggested I content the "help" desk to arrange payments!.
Each thread I have come across about them seems that they are trying different ways to get people to pay or to make the " outstanding" accounts look "good" to any potential buyers.
