I've had training in the past that put the fear of God in me regarding the EHO. I had cause to contact them for advice recently and rather than address the point regarding food of doubtful quality being allowed to be cooked, it was suggested there might be personality clashes involved and also the question, why would someone say something like that? Is there a higher authority than the EHO?

I was going to suggest possibly contacting the Food Standards Agency.
Their powers have been devolved, so different contact points.
