Understanding MCOL

Someone owed me a fair amount of money so I went downt he small claims route. they didn't resond to the questionaire from what I can gather and the time has elapsed. and today I can see on the online portal this message:

The defence was struck out on 05/05/2016The bar in place for Mr Man Who Owes You money was removed on 05/05/2016

My question is what does this all mean?

Sounds like you can ask for a judgment in default. The defence has been struck out so the claim ends, and you've won, for the moment anyway. If you log in to MCOL you should see an option to request Judgment.

Did you ever see a copy of the defence the other side entered ? Any clues why it might have been struck out?

Just be aware once you ask for default judgment the otherside could apply to set it aside, and could still apply to set aside or vary the strike out order.

Basically the guy never replied... he admitted "partial blame" i defended that and he got sent out the questionnaire and never bothered returning it. The MCOL gave him an extension and he never replied so I guess thats why they struck it out.

Ugh so even though I won I may have still not won he still has a chance to defend himself?
