  • Falsifying documents in order to influence a vote

What is the legality of a situation where a document has been altered in order to affect the outcome of a vote to keep or reject a proposal.

Original document has slightly differentt wording to the document used to inform the voters of the subject under consideration.

The altered document gives an impression that to vote for it would be a good thing whereas the original indicates that it would be detrimental to accept the
    proposal.

The vote was taken and the result was to accept the proposal to become law. A law which will affect thousands of people negatively.

    Is this fraud?

If so does the result of the vote become invalid? Seeing as using misleading documentation is not in line with INFORMED DECISION MAKING

    im interested in this myself.

i suppose it would depend on if you could show a chain of sequences between the paperwork, the vote, the changes, the vote , then you could use the fraud act ( but itsd hard ), especialy if anyone proffited

if its a public body, i think you have the option of judicial review ( depending on curcs )
crazy council ( as in local council,NELC ) as a member of the public, i don't get mad, i get even

      THANKS CRAZY

I'm in the process of gathering evidence. It is a public body. Trouble is some of the evidence I need is held by them.

The original documents are in the public domain so I have these.

I had suspected something wasn't right when I noticed some of the voters defending their vote.
One 'slipped up' and showed me the altered document (he didn't know it had been altered of
      course).

I'm trying to ascertain if all the voters got the same doc.
There is also evidence that the person who wanted his proposal to be accepted bullied, coerced
and used a form of bribery to get some people to vote the way he wanted. (At least two affected
have in written in a public domain....and would probably be required to stand as witnesses should
(hopefully) this issue goes to court.

I just want to be certain that tampering with an influential document to alter the course of a vote is definitely illegal. I know it seems pretty obvious that it is. But I want confirmation from someone qualified in legal matters.
