    Hi everyone
Am new here and I think I am posting this in the right place?!!
I have a current outstanding debt of £3775.00p which was with Barclays CC. Due to the onset of MS i was unable to continue working and came to an agreement with Barclays ( sometime in 2010 ) to pay a fixed amount of £26.00 per month.I have been making this payment ever since and have not missed any payments. Barclays wrote to me over a twelve month ago, saying that Link outsourcing were now looking after the Debt and i was to continue with the payment to them, which i have been doing. Today i received a letter from Link stating that my account was due for review with an attached Application For Reduced Payment Plan form attached( I thought i already had this with Barclays). Their letter states they reserve the right to request immediate payment of outstanding balance if I don't complete the form, they also suggest to save time I ring a 0800 number they have supplied. I am concerned about their motives on this and am not sure what to do next. Should I ring them, am i legally obliged to complete the form??. I probably should supply more detail but any comments would be appreciated.

When you say Link Outsourcing are looking after the debt, do you mean on behalf of Barclays or that the debt has been assigned to Link Outsourcing?

Do they say they are acting on behalf of Barclays?

            Re: link financial outsourcing ltd

It sounds like it may have been assigned but Barclays should have made you aware when they wrote to you that it was going to Link. Link should have also informed you that the debt had been assigned to them.

So, first thing I would suggest is to write to Link and ask them to confirm their interest in this matter. Explain that you already have a plan in place with Barclays and if the debt has been assigned to them, to supply you with a copy of the assignment from Barclays to Link before you can consider your position as it is unclear whether who owns/and has rights under the debt.

Had a good look through old paperwork and found the letters.

Oct 2013. Barclaycard agree due to my circumstances, reduced payment plan of £26.00 per month for 12 months.. Balance £4451.91

Oct 2014. Barclaycard continue agreement at £26.00 per month to be reviewed in 12 months.. Balance £4139.91

Feb 2015. Barclaycard write to tell me they are transferring my account to a third party called Asset Link Capital (No5) Limited. This is in line with the Terms and Conditions of the account and the transfer will happen in Feb 2015.
They state that Asset Link Capital (No5) Ltd have been chosen after a rigorous selection process. They're a reputable financial services company with considerable experience.
My agreed repayment plan is to remain in place for a minimum of six months after which Asset Link will get in touch to review my financial situation and may agree a new payment plan.

Feb 2015. Asset Link Capital write to tell me the following: We write to notify you that Barclaycard has assigned your account, as referenced above to Asset Link Capital (No5) Limited ("ACL5") on 27.02.2015 with an outstanding balance of £4035.91. ACL5 has appointed Link Financial Outsourcing Ltd to service your account on their behalf.
They acknowledge payments of £26.00 per month under the terms of an informal agreement, and will review this payment plan at the date agreed with Barclaycard or six months from this assignment.

Jan 2016. Link Financial Outsourcing send letter for payment plan review.

                    Hi,

Asset Link Capital No. 5 ( the five is I suspect the "portfolio No.) is now the
beneficial owner of the debt and is using Link Financial Outsourcing to manage
                    the account and collect payments.
Barclaycard is out of the picture.

Thanks nrm. So I guess I have to comply with their request for the new review!!

I do not have any statements or a copy of the original Barclaycard CC agreement. Any advice on how I could go about obtaining this information.
