I hope this helps you to help me 🤓

I have also drafted a letter today to send by recorded post tomorrow to Lowell requesting proof of the £2.50 payment and advising I will be adding that to my witness statement and disputing it in court. Is that ok?
Good morning it's unfortunate that the statements do not identify the origin or method of payment.
Was there any form of continuous payment set up e.g. standing order or debit card payment to meet
the required minimum payments at perhaps a reduced rate?

Do you recall making any of the other payments showing on those statements?

They don't make a lot of sense.

          Dated 6th July 2009
Claimed payment (top of statement) of £12 between 6th June and 6th July
          - no payment made or showing on statement

          Dated 6th August 2009
Claimed payment (top of statement) of £4.50
          - showing on statement as payment made on 29th July 2009 £2.50 and 7th July 2009 £2.00 - but no payment was made by Defendant

          Dated 7th September 2009
Claimed payment (top of statement) of £7.66 made between 7th August and 7th September
          - no payment made or showing on statement

            Hello.
The last genuine payment was made on the 18/02/2009 for £150 which is showing on March 2009 statement. We moved before any further statements were sent and although notice of change of address was given future statements where sent to old address and not forwarded as out of area.

I had posted these other figures as they made no sense to me either and I was hoping they could prove the company have adjusted the figures internally??

              Hello.

No all payments where made on the statements and varied depending on funds but never paid a sum lower than £10 and the last payment of £150 was made on the last statement we received from the company on the 18/02/2009 showing willingness to pay but as previously stated the company didn't action coa so didn't receive further statements.

Would the company have a copy of my coa details do you think? Is that how they are chasing us now?

                I really don't know I'm afraid.
What we need to know is where these £2.50 payments came from as yo never paid less than £10.

I think it's worth asking the original creditor to advise how payments £2.50 arise one wonders if this is
an internal accounting process of some sort.

If the judge can count to 10 on his fingers, he'll quickly see that those statements and numbers are complete nonsense.

No evidence or proof of anything either. You could type something up just as valid, showing you'd paid the whole lot off, and it would be as equally as good proof of that. i.e. none whatsoever.

I have drafted a letter requesting proof of the payment.. Ie if debit/ credit cards.. Name, ac number date, method of payment, security number, etc
cheq details and issuing bank if cheq.. Requesting they send to me within 12 days and that they need to defend it in court..

Not sure if any of that has teeth or whether they will ignore??

Thank you. I'm not very good at maths but it didn't make sense to me either. I'm glad you have confirmed that.

I have to start drafting up my witness statement. Do I have to have a minimum number of points? Concerned about how to pad it out without waffling..
