Re: Advice needed urgently please - legal matter

Hi, I am sorry to post on this thread again but I didn't want to start a new topic when everything is already on here.
yesterday I got a text message from the other member of the PTA basically accusing me of theft and fraud and saying she has told the school and made a police statement. These claims are untrue. Myself and this person have fallen out and I just have no idea why she is doing this. I have not heard anything about this case since Jan and in all honesty, whilst I was still a little panicky about it, I had managed to start to move on with me life. I haven't had any contact with anyone else. Is there any advice anyone can give me? I think I'm going to try and speak to a solicitor tomorrow and see if anyone can help me because all them horrible feelings I felt in Jan have now come back to haunt me and I'm back to been a wreak again

Hello again,
So sorry this has cropped up again, is there any verification in regard to the alleged statement made to the police?

This sounds to me like a vexatious claim against you, maybe you should report this text message to the police.
Amethyst can you take a look at this please.

All I have is this persons word for it. No one has contacted me from the school and nor has any police officer etc. I have teachers and parent governors on my own personal Twitter and Facebook and nothing has changed with them when they see me in the playground etc: surely the school would have called me in when this ex friend made this allegations. I don't know exactly what has been said etc because I didn't want to try and communicate with this ex friend as I don't think it's wise!

That make me think even more that this is vexatious and I think reporting the text is worth while.

Do you think the police will act upon this and come and arrest me? Or is back to the waiting game to see if anything comes of it again? I just really don't know what to do for the best. Ibe confided in a family member and she is certain that this matter was probs never reported back in Jan and thanks to fallout, she has now triggered something that was perhaps forgotten about. Due to the time lapse in people's experiance do you think that I am likely to just be given a call to go in to the station? Sorry to ask! Obviously this 'crime' took place 7 months ago!!!

At the moment my feeling is that there has been no statement to the police and I don't think you are going to be arrested!!

You can go to your local police station show them the text which would be my course of action!

Just to add the fallout has nothing to do with any of this whatsoever!!
She has just hit out at me and used things I have told her in confidence and twisted it and now trying to use everything against me. For example just before this happened I purchased my husband a ps4 so sold his old PS3 - this was done to get the money back I have 'stolen'. What sort of person does this and then rubs it in your face!

A vexatious person, one with a grudge.

Re: Advice needed urgently please - legal matter

i started to write a diary when this all happened and tried to get everything straight in my head and a version of events for if/when anything happened/ I've just been reading it now and the day the school called me about the situation, I said I had a hospital appointment: I didn't I said it because I just didn't know what else to say and really didn't want to be in this situation. However, my husbands grandad was dying in hospital at the time and I did go visit him that day. Hopefully they will have a record. I did go to school on that day, just after school had finished and handed everything over i had. I wasn't very well during that period and docs records will back that up. I'm presuming this is what she's using against me as well as the selling of the games console!! God I've really messed up here haven't I! I never did it to try and be dishonest and take money etc I just didn't feel strong enough to go and speak to the head first thing in the morning with the information of my grandads conditions worsening and it was also the Ann of the death of my father in law!!!! Shit, is this looking really bad?????

Re: Advice needed urgently please - legal matter

So today after another sleepless night, I have been to see a local solicitor. He wasn't very interested in all honesty! I told the whole tale and he cut across me constantly and made me feel like k was wasting his time. He was certain this matter wasn't reported in Jan or I would have heard something. It's not the crime of the century and isn't something that would need loads of investigating at the initial stages. So he's certain that had it been I would have been spoken to and it would be over and done with. He said that the police more than likely will not take someone who has a grudge against me seriously and he highly doubts they will even contact me now. His words were 'let's face it, had you commented the crime and stolen all this change or whatever you would have disposed of it by now. So the search of a property wouldn't be needed. For the police to arrest they need to have proabable cause that I wouldn't go to speak to them at an arranged time and date which there isn't in this case. He bascially didn't really seem that bothered and just kept saying I'm not worried so why should you be. So you think this was sound advice? Thank you again for people commenting and helping me. It really means a lot

Your solicitor is right.

However I think you have different issues, with the harassment and slander going on against you by these people. That text you received from your 'friend' - can you post the full text of it up?
