  • Training/Education fees

    Good evening,

Just a query. I have found a new job and therefore handed my notice in to my employer where I have worked for 11 years. My current employer are now requesting repayment of any training fees they spent on me whilst employed with them. This totals some 4k. Obviously I do not have 4k lying around. Therefore, I have asked to make a repayment agreement. They have refused this and requested payment in full within 16 weeks.

Can they impose this or am I right for attempting to be reasonable with a plan?

    Thanks in advance

Do you have a copy of your contract and any training agreements you have signed during the course of your employment?

How long ago did you complete the training ?

      Re: Training/Education fees

Just checked my contract and there is nothing in that about it. I do remember signing a learning agreeement type thing but don't recall the full terms. I am willing (begrudgingly) to pay but there is no way I can pay it all at once. How do I broach a payment plan and any idea where I stand legally?
      Thanks in advance
