    Re: Re Career Development Finance

Okay so for arguments sake say the claim was dated the 24th ? You should be okay to acknowledge - as being strict that would be due before the 8th October.

IF your claim form came from Northampton it should have this section on the front, bottom right.... ?

There's some help here on getting acknowledgment in online - http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...313#post499313

Ahh good, it does usually set your mind at rest to speak to them ( unless you get a doofus on the other end of the phone )

They are a bit wrong though, it doesn't give an extra 14 days, it extends the original deadline by 14 days.... so it's 28 days from the date you received the claim ( 28 days + 5 from the issue date )

so if we are saying the claim is dated the 24th ??? then your defence must be in by Tuesday, 27 October 2015 - unless you get an extension agreed with the claimant 9 but we'll worry about that later ).

Just get this acknowledgement done and we can help you look over the rest of the claim and this statute barred issue after xxx

On the Acknowledgement of service - tick ' I intend to defend the claim in full '..... that's pretty much it. No need to write any reasoning, or admit partial amounts or anything like that, simply TICK to say you intend to defend in full.

            Good stuff xx

It is for the claimant to evidence/prove the acknowledgement or payment of the debt being as you have said the debt is Statute Barred. It is a good idea to double check with your cards/banks etc, but Wright Hassle / CDF will be needing to tell you where this payment originated from.

Your nephew hasn't been in a Debt Management plan or anything over the years ? sometimes they start, chuck an odd payment out then fail. BUT most likely it's an invented figure to keep it looking live so the bottom feeders can sell it to the pond scum

                  Re- court judgement

                  Hello everyone.
Came on before to try and help my nephew who was being chased for a debt I think was over 6 years ago. It had got to court stage so people on here very kindly told me what to do, I wrote to Wright Hassal asking for proof of the last payment and have checked all banks credit cards etc, and can't find the payment, They wrote back saying they would request the information from Career Development that was in October and I've not heard anything since. Then today he gets a judgement through. Does he just pay, I don't know.
                  Thanks in advance.

                    Good morning Kim,

                    A judgement by default?
This usually happens when a defendant does not acknowledge service of
a claim, does not enter a defence or otherwise does not comply with the
                    court process.
                    So what happened?

I'l try to find the original thread it's always best to go back to this otherwise no one
                    knows the history.

Thank you. I have drafted a letter to Wright Hassal asking why they didn't send any further information. I will send it via recorded delivery as I did the last one.

I wrote to Wright Hassal asking for proof of the payment. Checked all credit card and bank and didn't find anything. Wright Hassal wrote back saying they would ask for further information from the original lender Career Financial, not heard anything else since, until this judgement.

Hello Kim is it likely your nephew received court papers, there would have been to questionnaires Allocations, and Directions from court/solicitors.
Can we see a copy of the Judgement Order please.
