Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

Blimey okay. Reading through everything now.

Need to spell out the sums

Original Caravan cost £45000
You paid £11,500 deposit in cash
Finance on £33,500

What happened to that finance and whats the position now? do you have any docs showing that finance being ended/paid off/being reconciled in this new loan ??

NEW CARAVAN cost £57312

You paid £24500 deposit including part ex value of £17000
Finance on £32812

- where did the rest of the deposit come from £7500 cash?

I think a full SAR on Barclays partner finance and the Caravan site company is in order to begin with to gather all the information.

Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

On Page 6 document the maths aren't right

It says the van cost £57312

the deposit you paid was £57312 ( which is wrong - it should say £24500 )

which should leave you with £0 loan

but it then gives you a £32812 loan - which is the outstanding amount of the previous loan ??

If the loan was only £32812 plus interest of £21805 that = £54617.

but they are saying the overall cost is £79117 - which would be a loan of the £57312 not the £32812

the interest payments don't add up either. at all.

Loan of
£32812
Monthly repayments
£454.14
Total amount repayable
£54,496.70
APR
11.7%
Total cost
of credit
£21,684.70

basically the agreement says you paid in cash in full for the new caravan that cost £57312 and the new loan is for paying off the old loan settlement of £32812.

None of that adds up. The interest is based on the 32812 loan, the total amount isn't right £79117.80

That is the £57k plus the interest - whereas the interest is worked out on the £32k loan.

Plus the van wasn't £57k and the deposit paid wasn't 57k and the £32k happens to be the settlement amount of the previous loan.

57312 made up of 32812 loan +24500 deposit +21805 interest =79117

Sorry about the rambling and numbers there....numbers aren't my strong point but something is definately off there.

Will try see if pt2537 can take a look.

Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

Hi Amethyst Thankyou for your response. I am not very computer literate as I am almost 57 and all though I can get around the laptop okish I cant delete things and add things etc. Please bare with me I will try to just go back over a few things breifly but to the point.

I had a caravan and I got a cash settlement from Barclays for
£32812.07
I was given a GS quotation which stated that I would be paying
£453 68 for 72 Months
This was under the condition that I put the caravan as part exchange against a caravan priced £58.000 (the agreement was that the salesmen would pay off my cash settlement and give me £17.000 towards the new one). Well that's unbelievable really but that was what it said. To me they were just figures. I was paying a cash payment as part deposit of
£24.500.
I was asked to pay £1000 deposit and to pay the final £23.500 My part of the deposit when the finance was sorted with BPF. This invoice was agreed and signed by myself the Salesman and the General Manager on the 25-04-2014.
I was back in Manchester now so GS were dealing with the finance.
12-05-2014 I paid over the phone £23.500 to GS as the remainder of my £24.500 deposit.
I was given a day when I could have the keys.
I was at the caravan when the BPF agreement was sent to my home address so it was some time before I received it.
When I read the BPF paperwork it stated information that I had no idea I had committed myself for. It stated that GS had set me up an account and the loan advance was I had taken out a loan for
£32.606.07 over 120 months.
The first movement on this account was 09-05-2014.
During the finance being put in place I had also made another payment of
£399.77 on the other caravan which I got back £206.09 after going into the office to ask about my account as I was so confused. I ended up broken hearted because I couldn't work out what had been happening.
I later found in my possession (I honestly don't know how I got it but it must have been in with other things that I had?) Another invoice dated 12-05-14 which stated that I had paid
£24.500 my deposit
£32812.16 as finance
Total £57312.16
This was exactly the same invoice as the first one that I had agreed to.

Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

Hi and thankyou.
I am sending some more information The Adjudicator made her decision which did not uphold my complaint. Her information was incorrect and she had believed what she had been told by the salespeople at the park. This was the financial ombudsman and she stated that she could not look into the other part where I had been told lies about the services etc on the site.

Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

So you paid cash

£1k
£23500
total £24500

£24.500 my deposit
£32812.16 as finance
Total £57312.16

so that's all ok if you forget that you thought you were part exchanging the first caravan.

The finance for the first caravan was paid up.

The settlement figure on the loan for the first caravan was £32812.07 (happens to be virtually the same as the finance on the new caravan)

Do you have the documents for that first loan on the first caravan ?

I have received an email from the adjudicator stating that she will look at my comments again but she thinks that her opinions will be the same. She has the caravan down as selling at £41,500 instead of what was supposed to be £58.000?

Amethyst,
THANKYOU, you are actually seeing what I am seeing that coincidentally the new loan is almost the same as the old loan especially when you deduct a further payment of £399.77 which I made as an overpayment. I don't actually know where the figure has come from because they would not budge from £58.000?
The second invoice that I have has my signature on but I have not dated or printed on it. TBH I don't even know if I have actually signed it it could have been traced. Al I know is where is the money they were giving me for my 2013 caravan as promised in the initial sales invoice. Because it has been rewrote and is not mentioned at all. This invoice was written out 18 days after the first invoice?

As it stands it seems that you sold your old van for £32812 which paid off your old loan.

Then separately you then bought a new van for £58k - which you paid £24500 cash deposit and had a loan to pay the rest (which happens to be about the same as the previous loan that you paid off by selling the van).

So no part exchange at all.

You should have some paperwork on the sale of your old van ?

Re: Hi im new here and desperate for help.

I have no documentation regarding the sale of my old caravan but I do know it was paid off on the 22-05 2014 as that is one of my concerns to the Adjudicator that they merely transferred the finance over and never repaid it. But they did.
They paid £32606.07 which was after I had made a payment off £399.77- £193.69 was paid off the loan ad the remainder they gave to me which was £206 09.
I phoned BPF last week and they assured me that the loan had been paid off and a new loan set up in my name by GS for £32812.16.
I know I have been conned by these people they are good they do this all the time because they know its your word against theirs. They pray on vulnerable people.
Someone stated earlier that GS used to have a good reputation Apparently so but since they were taken over in 2008 the stunts they pull and lies they tell are disgusting.
I really appreciate your support on this Thankyou to everyone.
Is there not someway I could send these invoices to you apart from on the internet because I cant scan them in. Then you would be mixed up I can tell you.
