  • UK Services & Support Ltd.

    Hello there!

After looking on your forum I realised I am not alone with problems I have with UK Services & Support.

I will try and keep this as brief as possible.

In October last year I searched on the internet and clicked on a website truly believing that I was on the official Passport Office website, and like others booked an appointment with them. However when my partner who the appointment was for tried to pay the fee at his bank the payment was intercepted and he was advised not to pay UK Services & Support Ltd. He then spoke to the Passport Office directly and obtained his passport the next day.

He informed UK Services & Support within hours of 1st contacting them that we would not be using their services and the reason why. He was continually contacted on his work mobile and email address until he changed jobs where the phone and email became unobtainable. It was then, that I received a letter from them stating that I owed the fee as I had filled the form in online on his behalf. I telephoned them and said I would not be paying them and the next thing I received a Claim form from them stating that I owed them money.

Unfortunately I mis-read the information and thought I had 28 days to respond. However it was 14 days and the CCJ has already been issued.

I have now paid £155 to the Courts, completed the Application notice and have received the General Form of Judgment or Order where it has been ordered that I file at the Court and serve on the Claimant a draft defence to the claim by next Monday 23rd March and this is where I could really do with some help please as I am finding it extremely difficult in obtaining information as to exactly what I need to do to serve this defence. Is it in person? post? should this be completed in any particular format? Is it here where I should supply all the information gathered from the Daily Mails article, ASA Ruling etc?

I would be so grateful if there is anyone out there that can give me some guidance please.

      Hi Rebecca - Welcome

We'll help all we can. Would you be able possibly to send me a copy of your set aside application and the subsequent court order. admin@legalbeagles.info then I'll get you a private thread sorted out and we can work on your defence which will need sending off tomorrow.

File and serve the defence, it will be filed at the court ( you can do this on paper or email ) and served on the Defendant - by post to 12 Deer Park Road.

It needs to have certain headers and footers, claim number / statement of truth etc ( see http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...448#post522448 )

Usually the info like the Daily Mail article etc would come later in your Witness Statement. The defence should be the legal arguments.

However when my partner who the appointment was for tried to pay the fee at his bank the payment was intercepted and he was advised not to pay UK Services & Support Ltd.
That's good to hear Can be used in your defence too.

I agree with Kati on your username, best to be anonymous in case of prying eyes xx

Thank you so much for your quick response, I really wasn't expecting that and it is so reassuring there is help out there as up until
now I have felt like I am banging my head against a brick wall!

am I able to take a photo of the Application to set aside and send to you as I am nowhere near a scanner?

Also, it's not my real name, nothing like it! I don't know anyone of that name either! But quite happy to change it if need be.
