I do have a thought on this,
If sombody is to be mediated, I think a time out be called for the person involved to cool off and then invited into mediation. The mediation should involve more than one member of site staff and not the member who called for the mediation. The staff who do the mediation should be given access to the reason of the mediation,ie if it is somthing said in chat the actual chat should be retrieved and inspected, so as to attain an overall view of the context of the said offence and the circumstance.

    Best wishes,
    Hod, Liam...

Hod, I agree to the chat log being accesssed for this, if need be. The time-out may be good - but sometimes it can be better to address the cause of anger whilst it is still simmering, IMO. Agreed, though, not always. There will however, be a natural delay in the process, so tha tmay well be sufficient to allow any "cooling" to occur.

Further to previous - agreed - the matter should be overseen by mutually indifferent eyes, if possible.

              Happy ,

As learned from `other` chatrooms it has been decided that NO logs will be kept from the chatroom so if there is a problem developing please copy and paste the conversation if you absolutely need to .There is an option in the room to SAVE the screen you are looking , make sure each side is copied for fair balance and not just one set of comments . Hopefully it will never come to this but at least everyone knows how from the start.

When you save the screen in LB Chat is removes all the posters names, rather annoyingly, so a highlight copy and paste might help as back up.

The couple of small issues we have had in there have been resolved well, I think, by a pm conversation with the parties involved. Things can get misunderstood easily and having a private chat to find out whats at the root of it will most likely sort things out. This is something anyone can do to diffuse things, not just team members. So if you can sort things out yourself, do so, we don't want to be pulled into the trap of babysitting...everyone should be equal.

Pure and simple trolling is another story if talking doesnt work then we may have to use the available tools, but communication should always come first.

For what its worth agree wholeheartedly with a venue to resolve issues in an sensible way, though personally I think the "Dog House" has some negative connotations which should probably be avoided.

I voted for Dog House. I know what you mean about the negative aspect, but I think it will be seen more in a gently humorous way.

However, would "The Vet's " be a possible suggestion as an alternative.

                    Or possibly "Room K9" ?
